| Lionheart Plays: Atelier Sophie - The Alchemist Of The Mysterious Book |

Viewer: "Hey Lionheart, what is Atelier Sophie? Why are you interested in this title/franchise?"

Lionheart; Hey, I'll be happy to answer these questions :)

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist Of The Mysterious Book, is a 2015 Japanese Role-Playing-Game developed by Gust Co. for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. It's the 17th main game from the Atelier series. That what google says XD

Ok, in all seriousness, Atelier Sophie is an alchemy based role-playing game, and the 17th installment in it's franchise. Usually in Atelier games, you are given a strict time limit, a number of days if you will.. To complete quests and story related assignments. For Example; say a shop keeper has sent you into the mountains to find a rare herb or defeat an enemy that's making traveling from town to town dangerous. This would be your assignment (along w/ other quests you could do) and you'd be given a time limit (45 days for sake of argument) to complete these tasks. Most things you do, take away from that time. Example; if you move around the world map (think of it like a chessboard), each area you go pass will consume one day. So if are asked to go visit the mountains, just making it there might take up 5 - 10 days away from your 45 day time limit. Other tasks like making items necessary for completing your quest, gong to collect materials and then coming back to make new items, and grinding enemies.. would also consume time, making players have to strategically decide what's important and whats not. In the past, players have been turned off by this, and often feel like they aren't able to truly enjoy the game because everything is RUSH RUSH RUSH!! But dread not ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to tell you that Atelier Sophie will be breaking the mold by not adding this core feature into the game. Players will be free to take there time and enjoy the beautiful scenery, grind enemies, master the game's battle system at your own past, and whatever else there will be to do.

As far as why I am interested in this franchise? Well.. I can show you better than I can tell you, take a look at this.

Viewer: "Interesting trailer.. But I'm curious, how has your personal experiences been w/ this series? What are things you like, and naturally, what are things you dislike?"

Lionheart; Hmm.. To be honest, I don't ever recall disliking anything about any of the atelier games that I have played in the past. That's just how good of a series this is, in my personal opinion. As far as things that I like, I'll give you a list.

  1.  The characters: each individual story related character, and even some of the store clerks or other npcs usually have so much personality and flare. When these character interact w/ one another, I am always on the edge of my sit waiting to see and hear whats about to happen. Also, there hasn't been a time when this series has thrown me a character that I disliked using or wished they weren't relevant to the story.
  2. The battle system: Atelier games gives you a turn based combat system, but the character and enemy attack animations are great in my opinion. The character models look great, and I read in an interview for this title that bringing this title to the PS4 has allowed GUST to really bring to life the characters expressions and movements. The main character is an alchemist, so you can best believe she will fight using alchemy. Bombs, barrels, healing potions, items that can tear the veil between space and time to smack the.... well, you know what I mean. And the other characters have there own special feats as well ;)
  3. The time limit: yes lol, I was fond of that. You go on this grand adventure to become the world's best alchemist, you battle these amazing creatures, you visit lush beautiful terrains.. but you are on a timer, lol. You cannot spend to many days focusing on perfecting your alchemy, you cannot spend to many days collecting resources for your alchemy, and you cannot spend to many days out visiting new places or testing your might against the different beast this wilderness throws at you. Everything you do matters, and effects the outcome of the game (well up until now anyway).
  4. The alchemy system: alchemy is love, alchemy is life :D & if you want to see what I mean you'll just have to subscribe to my YouTube Channel and watch my playthrough ;)

And lastly the music, I always enjoy listening to the music in the Atelier games. Here, you have a listen as well

Viewer: "You seem to really care for this franchise, and guess what? I'll be watching your playthrough every step of the way! I cannot wait to see what this game has to offer, and I might even get it myself after watching your playthrough if not when it releases tomorrow on June 7th, 2016. Thank you Mr. Lionheart!"

Lionheart: Anytime, and thank you for stopping by to chat w/ me. I'm glad you'll be watching this playthrough, it's means a lot! I'll be seeing you early tomorrow afternoon when my uploads go live!

Take care !! <3

Greatness Awaits! E3 2016 Hype!

The Electronic Games Expo or E3 is making it's way into our lives once again ladies and gentlemen, and the hype is real! Now, before I can discuss what I am hoping to see from E3 2016, let me refresh your memories about some of the titles that really stole my heart from E3 2015.

Everyone in the Universe was jumping around super hype for the FFVII Remake that was mentioned and showcased back in E3 2015. But no one really cared about a title that was mentioned after it, which is exactly what I am going to show you guys right now. World Of Final Fantasy! Is a game that I have been hype for since seeing it's big reveal last year, despite there not being much information leaking since then. I will post two videos below to give you guys a good feel about what World Of Final has to bring to the table, hopefully you guys and girls will give this cute and seemingly wonder title a try. The first video is from PlayStation Access, and was released last year during E3 2015. The second video is a more recent 20 minute stage demo from the 2016 Jump Festa.

What I'm about to share w/ you guys and girls next should come as no surprise if you have been following my blogs and youtube channel. Horizon Zero Dawn is a game that was revealed during E3 2015 and I fan girled (yes, a heavy set man fan girled) all over the place for about a week straight. I have been anxiously awaiting for the so called 2016 release of this title, and my thirst is continuing to go unquenched with the arrival of E3 2016 and still no release date for this masterpiece of a game. In case you aren't to familiar w/ this title, here is a video :)

And well.. That's it, lol. Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy FX are games everyone will get, even people that weren't into the serious until seeing these title's get revealed during E3 2015. That's just how good they are, the only other title I deem worthy of mentioning is one of the most beautiful franchises ever!

Haha, that's right I fooled you guys, there is one more title that has to be mentioned before I move on to discussing what I'm looking forward to from E3 2016. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a magnificent game called: Ni No Kuni II Revenant Kingdom. Here, that a look a Ni No Kuni - The Wrath Of The White Witch first, and then take a look at Ni No Kuni II. These games are incredible, and the stories hit you right in the feels. (And yes it's an IGN review, but trust me you will like this review man. IGN gets it right sometimes, lol)

Now let's talk about E3 2016 and what I'm expecting from Sony. For starters I have to get this out into the open, but I am NOT a supporter of PlayStation VR. It's just not for me, not right now anyway. I feel like it's to soon to messing around with that kind of technology, however! While we are on the subject of Virtual Reality, I am looking forward to Sword Art Online Realization! The Sword Art games, in my personal opinion are sort of hit or miss and I'd really like to see SAO get it together. I am praying that Sword Art Online Realization isn't a bust like Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment. Yes, I know a lot of people liked Hollow Fragment, as well as Sword Art Online Lost Song. But me on the other hand, I could never come around to finishing Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment because.. Well you start the game over powered as all hell. Hollow Fragment is basically two game put into one (a good example would be Toukiden Kiwami or Soul Sacrifice Delta), one part of the game is a joke because of how strong you are. And if you decide to venture into the Hollow Area before you visit Aincrad then it really becomes a joke and rather pointless (outside of trophy hunting).. Lost Song is a bit of a different story, I honestly can not say anything negative or positive about SAO Lost Song because I didn't pay it, waaay to disappointed w/ Hollow Fragment to give Lost Song a chance. Lol, but fear not friends and newcomers, I shall be giving Sword Art Online Realization a try. I really love the Sword Art anime, so it's only nature I try to embrace the games right? Here's a look at some Sword Art Online Realization gameplay, let me know what you guys think!

Next up is a franchise that I have been in love w/ since forever in a half, and the hype is strong w/ this one! A game called Tales of Berseria will be releasing in Japan on August 18th, and if my Japanese was a little better I would import this game without any questioned asked. How epic would it be to see a tales game revealed during E3 with the announcement of an early 2017 American/European release? Pretty damn amazing right? Here take a long at this trailer for Tales of Berseria, embrace this beauty w/ me

Now I already know this title probably won't make the E3 floor given it will be releasing in Japan next month, and it is almost certain if it hasn't already been announced, that it'll make it's way state side. I'll be showing you guys my own personal gameplay from my YouTube channel for this next title, because I am really looking forward to this game. It would be so cool if this was announced at E3 though, so more people in the Americas, Europe.. Everywhere, can see and embrace this beautiful franchise. Here it is guys and girls, Toukiden 2!

And I wouldn't be a Lionheart if I didn't share this next title w/ you guys, let's drive straight into this video guys! It's so breathing taking that nothing I say can justify this beauty of a game, it speaks for itself! Take a look Final Fantasty XII: The Zodiac Age !

That's pretty much it for my PlayStation expectations and hype, there are few things (ok I lied, one thing) from Nintendo this year, but this is a PlayStation blog so we won't be discussing that here. I love E3 but I like to go into it mostly blind, I have a feeling we will be getting some crazy reveals this year. Especially w/ the PlayStation VR, PlayStation 4k (PlayStation Neo), and PlayStation Vue all being out in the open for discussion. I want to thank you all for taking the time out to stop by and check out this post, please let me know what you guys are expecting to see this year at E3 2016 (you can tell me your xbox and nintendo fantasies as well), as well as what you would like to see the MOST!

P.S. - I apologize for my poor grammar, and sentence structure :) | Side Note: Final Fantasy XII will be getting a world wide release I believe, not to sure on that but I think it's gonna be a thing! Fingers Crossed!

Also, after making this blog guess what was released moments later! A new Horizon Zero Dawn Trailer!!!!!! w/ a release date!!!! February 2017!!!! take a look!

here is a link to the full article: New Horizon Zero Dawn Trailer & Release Date

Emergency update, wow! The second time today this has happened, first w/ Horizon Zero dawn and now with this. @ 11:25pm EST (yes I am awake at this hour and on youtube, lol) a new trailer for World Of Final Fantasy just aired. Here take a look! And it has a release date for October 2016, OMG Yes!!!!!!!

Year Of The Lionheart

2016 will be a fantastic year for myself and the Lionheart Family, a number of achievements and lifestyle improvements will take place this year. But the greatest gift and blessing has already been born into the Word. On January 16th, myself and the Mrs. were blessed with our beautiful Son, Noble Alexander! A magnificent start to the new year! It really feels good to be a Father, and to have a family of your own. The Mrs. and Noble are huge motivators, they give me the strength and support I need to face each and every obstacle or challenge life throws at me. Here, take a look at the little guy :)

__________________________________________________________

Another thing that will make this year so great for the Lionheart is that I will finally be able to start doing commentary on my videos! Yes, finally. This will result in a huge transformation for my YouTube channel, and what I am able to achievement both on and outside of YouTube. I will be able to do unboxing videos for Limited Edition and Collectors Edition copies for video games of choice. I will be able to engage in E3 discussion videos with you guys, give overviews and reviews for the content I share with you all. And most importantly I will be able to transform my silent playthroughs into informative walkthroughs! For you folk that dread reading video descriptions, although since I have a deep voice I will continue to list all information I voice in the video descriptions for those of you who are unable to understand me.

Recently I have been asking fellow YouTubers, mates I know IRL, and friends from Twitter to do my Channel Art for me. But starting Summer 16, the Lionheart will be doing his own Channel Art (probably). Although I will continue to let JDemi2708 from the Lionheart Family compose all of my music for the time being. He works hard, he's dedicated, and does a great job in my opinion.

_________________________________________________________

Now, let discuss what the Year Of The Lionheart is all about. Which you might already have guessed it, it's about games games and more games! PlayStation 4 has an amazing line up of games coming out this year, and there are a lot of titles I plan to share with you all. Titles like:

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4

The Witch and the Hundred Knight: Revival Edition

The Division

Nights Of Azure

Dark Souls III

Grand Kingdom

And many more. This year has a strong line-up of titles releasing between February and June, with E3 awaiting us in June to reveal even more marvelous titles. The Lionheart will be providing you with playthroughs and eventually walkthroughs for the above titles and future titles.

_________________________________________________________

And lastly we will discuss content. Will the Lionheart remain a PlayStation only guy or will he eventually share titles from Nintendo and Xbox? well guys, I thought long and hard about it. With titles like Scalebound, Fire Emblem Fates, Pokemon Moon, and whatever else the enemy has to offer.. I think I will remain  a PlayStation guy, with maybe an exception for Scalebound. Although buying an Xbox One just to play one title is a bit on the far side, so I probably won't do it. This always me to remain faithful and dedicated, plus greatness awaits on the Sony side of things. I'm a hardcore gamer, I do wanna go Microsoft and become a casual. Nintendo is cool but aside from Pokemon Moon and Fire Emblem Fates I don't see anything I would want on a 3DS, and again.. Buying a console for one or two titles is a bit on the far side so I probably won't do it.

And that my friends bring us to the end of this update. As stated above I do playthroughs for RPG and JRPG titles on my YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/c/ScarLionheart and right now I am currently doing | Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 & The Witch And The Hundred Knight. Titles like The Division I will be streaming on my Twitch account: www.twitch.tv/scarlionheart as well as uploading highlights from the stream onto my YouTube Channel. So if you guys ever need to reach me you can tweet me on twitter at: www.twitter.com/ScarLionheart and I will reply to your tweets with the quickness. Thank you for taking time out to check in with my blog, and thank you guys for the support on youtube and twitch. Until next time guys, later.

PlayStation Experience 2015 ! My Thoughts And Impressions

On Saturday, December 5th, 2015

Sony held a conference called "PlayStation Experience" where they showcased a number of new games, as well as new footage for games we're already expecting or already own. From AAA titles to the smaller indie titles, Sony revealed what us gamers can call a series of early Christmas gifts. Here I will tell you guys what stood out to me during this conference and provide you with links to content that is currently available in the PlayStation Store with the arrival of this event.

Coming in strong at number one for me is Final Fantasy VII. A lot of people were hype, while a lot of others were disappointed with the arrival of this new FFVII trailer. I for one, and happy as hell FFVII while be played similarly to Final Fantasty Type 0 and not it's traditional turn based counterpart. While I have nothing against turned based strategy games, I played far too many and I need a break from that style of gaming. I look forward to seeing more from the FFVII Remake/Remaster, and if you haven't already seen it you can watch the reveal for yourself here.

And that's not all! If watching this new reveal trailer gets you over amp'd and you cannot wait for this FFVII remake any longer, you are in luck. You can purchase the classic PlayStation version of FFVII on your PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Store with this link here: Final Fantasy VII on PS4

The second big reveal for me, that got me so hype and happy to be a PlayStation Gamer was the trailer for "Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" and again, I am HYPE for this title. I loved Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch for PlayStation 3. It was an amazing, well written, beautifully animated game. With fun combat, and an interesting story that grabs your heart, squeezes it, and makes a glass of freshly squeezed feelings, Ni No Kuni is easily one of my favorite games ever. And for it to be getting a sequel that's exclusive to PlayStation 4 warms my heart. If you haven't already seen it, you can watch the trailer here.

Lastly, something that got my was actually revealed officially yesterday by Sony. You can now purchase from the PlayStation Store classic PlayStation 2 titles on your PlayStation 4. And on the list currently available one title in particular caught my eye, Rogue Galaxy.

I have never heard of this title, and after doing some light research I'm sad of it, because it looks pretty good. So good in fact, that Rogue Galaxy is going to be the next game I feature on my YouTube channel. PlayStation has announced that they will "try" (keyword) to update the selection of PlayStation 2 titles you can purchase regularly, hopefully franchises like: Full Metal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Star Ocean and other great titles will be uploading to this library of games.

And that's it for me personally. Sony revealed a lot of Indie titles that I don't care for, Sparrow Racing for Destiny Taken King which I really don't care for (starts on December 8th), and a few titles for the PlayStation VR that makes me think 2016 is far to early for such technology to exist. You can check all that stuff out if you guys are interested, both PlayStation and IGN have videos of everything that was revealed today on their YouTube channels. I have to say, aside from these three titles I was very disappointed with this years presentation. Hopefully, tomorrow brings better news and excitement.

Here's a link to my YouTube channel if you haven't already subscribed to it: https://www.youtube.com/c/ScarLionheart | and thank you guys for taking the time out to read my blog.

Lionheart Plays: Dragon Quest Heroes

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe And The Blight Below is a hack-and-slash game for the PlayStation 4.

The story takes place in the Kingdom of Arba, where mankind and monsters lived peacefully. Until one day when monsters started attacking mankind, leading Captains of the Royal Guard Luceus and Aurora to recover their Hearts.

On Friday, November 27th, 2016 I began uploading a full playthrough for Dragon Quest Heroes on my YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/c/ScarLionheart) as well as started a new blog for the series which you can access here http://lionheartplaysdragonquestheroes.blogspot.com/ which contains a spoiler free description of whats happening in every video. You can also access and watch the videos right on the blog, but it helps if you take time out to subscribe to my YouTube channel and give the videos a thumbs up if you like the content.

For the initial playthrough I'll be focusing on showing mostly story content and I'll cut out all unnecessary gameplay scenes to eliminate any repetitiveness. Afterwards, I'll upload post game content if I decide to go for the platinum. All trials missions and some side quest will be uploaded at the end of the initial playthrough. Also, I'll make short 2 or 3 minute video clips showcasing each individual characters skill set and ultimate moves.

Dragon Quest Heroes is my first ever Dragon Quest title , and after playing this I can assure you all that I'll be playing many more.
